We haven't expressed excessive keenness and are wanting, vaguely, to play it cool and not come across as 'the idiots relocating from Brighton with cash'. Happy to pay over asking for it but not silly money which I would worry the agent would push for if I said tomorrow "Will offer asking if you take it off the market now" etc.
Difficult to judge how sensible the agent is from a couple of calls :/
A house has come up Mrs CYOA and I really like the look of. Thing is, it's 220 miles away and we won't be able to see it until Friday. It's already been on the market since the 13th. We've booked a viewing and will airbnb locally on Friday with the intention of making an offer then and there if it lives up to our expectations (which we're confident it will).
But what's the forum wisdom when it comes to make an offer before then? We both really like it on paper and don't want to risk missing out. Obviously offers aren't binding until exchange etc. But would it weaken our position in some way to make an offer when the estate agent opens tomorrow morning? And presumably if someone makes an offer before then and it is accepted the agent would let us know and we could 'gazump'? Or, seeing as we've booked a viewing is the agent likely to advise owners to hang on until the weekend and see if / what kind of offer we come up with.
Argh etc.
