Does the di2 connector fit through Garmin bolt holes? Could you fit the junction box inside the stem?
-
• #2878
Nah, no way to get the junction box into the stem unfortunately.

That’s what I said a year ago, so I did something about it.

Right, I just need a talent

If only someone would pay me for it

Someone pays prolly

Where's the fun in that!?

Have you seen those steerer spacers that have an integrated Di2 junction mount?
I mean, clearly no good if you plan to slam it, but means you don't have to band/glue the junction box to the stem - it pokes out from a spacer.

Has this been recalled yet?

If it's just a show bike, why even have a junction box? In fact, why wire it up at all?
-
• #2888
That’s actually a pretty good idea! I get to keep it afterwards though, and would like it to be functional!
Yeah, have looked into those steerer mounted ones. Will prolly get one to see what they’re like.
Have got @coldharbour on the case with his new 3D printer, so let’s see what he comes up with!

Raceware do Garmin mounts with junction box mounts underneath that attach under those bars, it’s what I have on mine. It’s neat, but sounds like it’s not as neat as you want.

He gonna 3D print a cock shaped one isn't he?

'course it's a good idea. #hippyisalwaysdrunkimeanright

Make it functional.. AFTER the show.

How did you find out my plans Ed?

Raceware, in my experience, would not ship before Bespoked if Hoops ordered now.
-
• #2895
You could make it functional afterwards - to go for maximum aesthetics for the show - but I guess sorting it beforehand is likely better long term since it's going to be ridden. Also you might think of a clever way of hiding stuff that works with your paintwork.

Fouriers branded Di2 spacer mounts are in a few colours on Ebay

Speshy do something like this and it's pretty flush. Cables a little less so unless you wrap them up really tight. 3D print something similar for any type of stem? Also maximum slammage capable.

Am using integrated bar/stem, so no faceplate bolts to utilise.
Going to see how the print Matt is doing for me comes out, as that will be pretty similar to what you’ve shown, but will bolt directly into the underside of the stem.

Where is the junction box gonna sit?

Get a bar end junction. No glue, band, spacers..
Man, I’m in the wrong job
