TBH, Campag fucked it all up when they introduced PowerTorque (now dropped) and Powershift (fragile shite). Shit quality stuff that they should never have made. The Ultrashift stuff is very durable though, as are their other moving parts. You still see people riding it these days.
I've not used any Shimano stuff since the last gen 10 speed, which was a poor experience. I'd love some hydraulic discs if they were reliable, but ATM it looks risky.
I'd be interested to know how many road disc calipers shimano have shipped. Mine have been flawless and I wonder if the number of people reporting issues with their calipers is a ring proportion of the number of people using them
Much like PreCursas cracking 'all the time'. But as a % of the PreCursas that have been sold probably no different, or even better than other frames. Especially how theyre generally ridden into the ground
Early generation probably, the Shimano MTB stuff have been pretty reliable, but can't says what their first gen MTB brakes were like as I wasn't a mechanic back then.
