plenty of people want to sell you something at least equivalent for less dorrah - this isn’t a case of Surly making something unique - they are late to the party and look expensive.

Oh totally, I'm not at all down with the fat headtube, forks, frame colour. I just happen to have all the stuff to build it up already at home and may be able to take advantage of the exchange rate or crazy US second hand bargains somehow. Definitely not going out of my way to get one.

I really want to build up another steamroller or maybe a pacer just to piss around on while I'm down here as the sizing/geo seems to feel better for me than the Straggler/Crosscheck I've had previously.

I'd noticed the prices had sky rocketed, I was looking at discount trucker forks the used to be £85 now they're £125

Surly Lowside - SS, 26x3.0"...

Seems like a lot of crossover with the 1x1.

The Lowside certainly has a more sloping tt (compact geo?) than my 1x1 but I thought the newer 1x1s were a bit more like this?

I may be he only person on planet earth ... but I really like the look of the Pack Rat.

Anyone here have experience or have ridden one?

Yeah I spotted that it had been removed from the current line up.

Shame, but the Lowside looks like a good replacement.

I guess the 1x1 didn’t necessarily look as much fun as this does, but once you’ve ridden a 1x1 you know it can be.

Has anyone ever tried out a Jones loop or the Surly Moloko(?) bars on a LHT/Disc Trucker?

@dirac - I’ve been tempted to put my moloko bars on my lht for a while but have resisted as that bike works well with town bars/clip on tt bar combo and still allows me to mount a handlebar bag. I’d be more inclined to do it if I had a bunch of fancy bikepacking luggage...
But then I’d lose my ‘have a bit of a lie down and tuck out the wind/snooze’ position.
