Yeh, agree w/regards to Magura.
Some of Hopes older brakes were ropey, but apparently they make decent kit these days (for the off roaders of course); reliable and rebuildable.
That's the problem with a leaking Shimano caliper, you have to warranty it and then you're without a bike for a week or two. Plus you've got to fuck about bleeding (and often rebleeding).
Juin Tech have been alright for me, have a spare Spyre caliper to put on when one of them inevitably goes tits up.
Magura made some awful kit too - including a master cylinder design where if you put the bar clamp on upside down the clamp screw pierced the reservoir. Amazing.
Another anecdote that supports the theory that getting light, compact, ergonomic and effective hydraulic bicycle brakes right is simply bloomin’ difficult. None of it works as consistently and is as durable & tolerant as a cable driven rim brake caliper.
Hats off to campag if they cracked it though.
