My (uninformed) guess is that if you are racing for RCC then they will almost certainly have paid the levy so you should be OK on that front.
I spent a year racing in my uni skinsuit (which I think had sponsors on it) when I was no longer a member of the university CC... At the time I was told that since my new club had also paid the levy then this would be fine. I've no idea if this advice was technically correct though.

I’ll wing it.
Thanks. -

It is; as long as the club you're riding for has paid the levy, you can carry any sponsorship you like except a pattern registered with the UCI for a professional team.
Of course, the whole thing is a stupid legacy of the old amateur sport, and should be struck from the regulations as it serves no useful purpose.

RCC!? Sellout!

Thanks. Good to clarify.

I just wanted the free coffee.

And the chance to set a few club records?
-
• #17059
No idea what they are, but properly pretty decent already.
I feel for any future member of bishops stortford cc. That 25 is on a shelf, even I can’t reach near.

I doubt it, the only RCC tester I've seen rides a Pinarello Bolide around A district, very slowly.
TT isn't very Rapha really, bit more duris than gloria.

Back in the day - at the NRHR they would cut out Cucumber Lane if it was icy. I think I recall that happening at least twice.

Indeed and always an option, I will be out checking the course around 7.30. My main concern is ice between Newgatestreet and Tyler’s Causeway it does stay wet there and no way to avoid. It was ice there that caused 2015 event to be cancelled but that was rain Saturday then a freeze. Hopefully a few more days of dry weather will improve things if there are minus temps on Saturday night.

I saw quite a few entrants under Rapha last season, even in some Q events. Pretty sure one is a regular on here?
Could be wrong tho, usually am....

I didn't really do any 10s or 25s last year which is probably where you'd see more I guess

The RCC 24 hour club record is 498 miles. Get on it.

Nice but a bit pricey...

Talk to me when you have the full set. :P

Who was Ultan racing for when he did >500?
-
• #17069
Bloomin heck - I stand corrected 513.6... not messing about. 6th on the all time list!
-
• #17070
I should know. He was breathing down my neck for 23.5 hours.
-
• #17071
The 24 is on my list. But a few other itches to scratch first.

I’d back you for a strong BBAR attempt but it seems like there is quite a lot of effort involved in picking the right courses etc. Smashing a few ultra races is probably more fun though.
-
• #17073
Way more fun.
Bbar isn’t what it once was, and not something that makes me excited.

What does one wear when TTing in this Arctic wind bullshit?

Skinsuit. No gloves.
Instead of warning up on a turbo, just sit in your motor with the engine running and heating full blast.
But seriously. I might just ride over on road bike and wear full training kit. Not really that worried on properly time trialling at 0 deg C.
Thanks. Good to know. Can’t be worse than last year.
