  • I suppose it also depends on how busy the roads are and how exposed the course is. If there's a lot of hedge shelter then it's likely the sun (lol?) won't get to any potential ice, however if it's a busy road then there's a chance it's been gritted.

  • This country can't even keep the roads in one piece during summer, I wouldn't trust gritty gritty bang bang.

  • There won’t be any ice. It’s dry all week so there isn’t any water to feeeze, and not super cold Saturday night anyway. If it were possibly going to be icy then sack it off. It’s a dangoura course if the weather or road isn’t good, at race speed.

  • No. Will put it on after this weekend.

  • Is this for the NRHR? It's above zero and sunny Sat and above zero Sun.

  • I dunno I just assumed?

  • I can remember seeing them as low as £160 (?) - Don't quote me on that

    Currently £150

    Do want. Can't justify.

Also really cba to recable everything...

  • Cheers! I have agreed to buy a pair 2nd hand off a rider local to me (£100) but if it falls through will go for these.

  • Anyone know of a long extension bar, with 50deg bend?

Ideally 400mm long. Can't see any.

USE are 365mm so that's enough

  • Have a look for Zipp and ENVE variations.

TriRig is worth looking at too.

    Some chat..

  • Gamma are well long and might do your 50deg angle.

  • bought the use ones, they're long enough. but thanks

  • Praying Mantiskinny

  • Anyone know the clothing rules for ctt? For some reason I can’t see it on the website.

Can I wear a skinsuit with branding on it, that isn’t linked to another ctt team? I believe so if I remember right.

  • I've never heard of anyone being pulled up for clothing branding infraction. My skinsuits have Assos and Bioracer on them. If someone tried to DQ me for turning up in it my car will "break down" across the fucking course.

    1. Competitor's Clothing
Competitors must be clothed from the neck to at least mid-thigh. Sleeves shall be at least mid upper arm length. Not withstanding the above, when competing in Type B Events, triathlon style sleeveless tops are permitted. Swimming type suits and running vests are not allowed.
To be allowed to start all clothing shall be clean and tidy.
No competitor may carry advertising or the name of a commercial business on his race clothing except:

    (a) where he is a member of a club or team that has paid the advertising fee, he may carry advertising, but must not compete in clothing of a trade team that is/has been registered with the UCI unless he is a member of that team: or

    (b) when competing in club events
N.B. The inclusion of a manufacturer's logo shall be permitted.

Competitors on solo machines must prominently display a number on a fluorescent or reflective background of not less than 20x20cm. The number shall be centrally positioned below the waist so as to be clearly visible from the rear when in his normal riding position. Position number as shown below

N.B. If the rider's top covers his shorts, the number should be placed in a position equivalent to that described.
In tandem events each tandem shall be allocated one number which shall be worn by the rear rider as described above. The use of additional numbers shall be at the discretion of the promoter. Competitors must give their number verbally when called upon to do so by an official of the promoting organisation.

  • So I presume yes is the answer.

    Thanks.

  • What does it look like?

There's a guy local to me who regularly TT's in a Giant Alpecin skinsuit or a sleeveless tri suit :D

  • Blue and gold with a few logos. I'll wear it sunday.

So it's not as bad as that guy!

  • There's a guy local to me

    It's you isn't it?

  • (a) where he is a member of a club or team that has paid the advertising fee, he may carry advertising, but must not compete in clothing of a trade team that is/has been registered with the UCI unless he is a member of that team

@skinny are the logos advertising your sponsors? If so then that could be a bit more marginal. Clubs with paying sponsors have to pay an advertising fee to the ctt to display sponsor logos. Whether or not your club has paid the advisor levy, I don’t know how this would relate to wearing a privately sponsored skin suit.

That said I’ve almost never heard of anyone being penalised for breaking clothing regulations, but if you’re planning on winning then I might err on the side of caution.

  • FWIW I reconned the Hardriders course this afternoon. As @skinny says there's no rain forecast but the first half is currently pretty damp and there's standing water at the bottom of Newgate St, all down Cucumber lane and a few bits elsewhere. It was fine today but fingers crossed it doesn't freeze Saturday night. Aside from the water watch out for the turning off White Stubbs lane to Pembridge lane: the road is an absolute state, gravel and potholes all over the place.

  • Cucumber lane

Reason enough for me to never ride this. #POC

  • Yeah.

It got made for university champs. So has uni logo on and 2 other small ones.

Then it has Rapha on it. Who I’m racing under RCC. So it does have the team name!
