That's ace. Does the Straggler have (semi)-horizontal dropouts?
I spend the afternoon battling a stuck BB with @Vince 's advice and a few days soaking the area in Plusgas.
In the end I used a trigger clamp to hold the tool in place, then applied a big spanner and a bar
After a large amount of grunting, it came free, leaving this on the drive side
And this on the NDS
Note the remnants of the plastic cup I'd drilled away to nothing. The bottom bracket itself had seen better days
But all the threads look OK and should be fine once chased. Can anyone recommend a DIY method? Cutting a groove into an old BB cup so the gunge has somewhere to escape?
Buoyed by my victory, I couldn't resist mocking up the build I'm planning

RJ has a video about doing it this way. A small stiff brush would work too although maybe not as well.

Yeah they're quite odd, I wonder how much hold they really have when the wheel is pushed all the way forward, resting on both the vertical and horizontal section. Not heard of any issues (apart from pain with wheel removal and alignment) but going to keep an eye on them.

I've been battling with The Most Stuck Bottom Bracket Ever on and off for a few months, tried all of the above including a 12" plumbing wrench and 6' scaff tube, blowtorching, soaking in penetrating oil... It even broke the tool at my LBS. Have now started attacking it with a drill and hacksaw as I'm stubborn - anyone have any experience of this?
Very quickly putting together this to take to my parents' place. Picked up the frame last week on close-out, stripped parts from some other bikes and hurried built up.
Test ride was fun, now needs some finishing touches - change of tyres perhaps - need to check how wet the weather has been, tape, change of cassette and finally boxing & shipping.
