  • Just had city police pull me over at Liverpool Street for riding brakeless. Pretty annoying they know about that and actively pull people over for it but then say that a front brake and a freewheel is legal, numpties.
    Fortunately I dodged a ticket which would've been £50.

  • Front brake only ss can still stop faster than brakeless fixed.

    Irrelevant comment is irrelevant.

The point of the "two independent means" legislation is to protect against single point of failure.

With gravel rash too if you're stopping on a loose, slippery or very sloped surface. I can't believe how many people I see riding that way.

  • From how fast, with what rims, what brake pads, is it raining, what pedals, how experienced is the cyclist, what kind of brake lever, what tyres? Front brake only SS is a quick way to learn how to do handlebar somersaults.
