Didn't bother with the pedal and rear reflectors bit though, didn't wanna be too smarmy.
Which didn't you bother with? Pointing out that you did, or didn't have reflectors? Neither option makes any sense.
Coming across as smarmy is the least of your worries: careful that stable door doesn't smack you on your smar........... t-arse on the way out!

Front brake only ss can still stop faster than brakeless fixed.

I'd like to see some enforcement of road laws in general.

Irrelevant comment is irrelevant.
The point of the "two independent means" legislation is to protect against single point of failure.

With gravel rash too if you're stopping on a loose, slippery or very sloped surface. I can't believe how many people I see riding that way.

From how fast, with what rims, what brake pads, is it raining, what pedals, how experienced is the cyclist, what kind of brake lever, what tyres? Front brake only SS is a quick way to learn how to do handlebar somersaults.

If only brainless was illegal in the U.K.
Bad news, but glad you dodged the fine.
Just out of interest, you on a bright orange Gangsta with jumbo jet risers or some kinda head turner like that?
