  • I'm thinking of switching from panniers to a carradice saddle pack system for commuting and maybe some light touring.

I'm totally torn between a Nelson longflap with bagman or a super c sqr tour.

How does one choose between the two?

In terms of what I'll be carrying, mainly clothes, sometimes lunch, rarely shoes.

  • If you're commuting you probably want a bag with a quick release so it's easy to put on and off each day.

The SQR acts as a quick release whereas the bagman has to be bought separately and isn't cheap, nigh on £50 I think.

On the other hand, if you have a carbon seatpost there are questions over using the SQR with those.

  • Thanks for this, using an alu seatpost and leaning towards the super c tour or slim. The Nelson is much nicer looking but I've read that it's a bit more fiddly with the leather buckles etc.
