On the whole I am not on board with criticism of how a leader conducts their ceremonial duties. 20 minutes, 1 hour... who cares? As long as he is not performing first aid or emptying bed pans, a president is entirely superfluous in a hospital.
Focusing predominately on the kissing babies, shaking hands stuff risks having voters electing a reality TV show type with no grasp of realpolitik whatsoever. Not that this is likely to happen in a Western democracy anytime soon, but still.
