  • Are you me? This is literally exactly what I'm doing (except I'm considering other bikes too, not just a CdF. And I'm not small).

    There are loads of really cheap XS or S 2017 CdFs for sale. Think the framesets can be had for under £300 if you look carefully.

    I just spotted your thread! I have an Ultra 700 AF (which replaced my Triban 3 which I massively regret getting rid of) but it's not the comfiest bike over longer distances, and I'd love to get something with discs, and we all know steel is real. Thinking I could use the 105 bits off my B'Twin and buy the disc brake and other bits. Hmmm.

  • Yeah, that's what I'm doing. Rim brakes -> cable discs and compressionless outers seems like a great upgrade path! Especially if your 105 stuff is in decent nick.

    Plus building a bike from frameset up is great fun

  • There is a secondhand XS CdF in Deens Garage in Beckenham. Give them a call to see if they've still got it. It's the rust colour.
