  • sadly, i suspect are still far too many out there that think people on the bottom of the pile are there because they deserve it / want to be there.

  • good ol' 'merica logic.

  • ^^It will need generations worth of work to change that

  • joe walsh is a fascist arsehole who doesn't pay child support.

    and the eagles are shit.

  • Is that a meme or serious, I honestly cannot tell. If true, wildly illogical!

  • It's sad but there's literally nothing you can do to prevent gun violence.

It's just evil, and the only thing that will combat evil is enough prayer.

    Here's Florida Governor Rick Scott:

"As a grandparent and a parent, the first thing you think about is: 'God, I hope this never happens to my family.'

"Then, you think about it and you're furious. How could this ever happen in this country? How could this happen in this state?

"This is a state that has focused on keeping all of our children safe.

"You come to the conclusion this is just absolutely pure evil"

How could it happen, Rick, in the USA? No one knows.

  • Wasn't there a famous 2A'er lady who was shot in the back by her child, with her own gun, whilst driving, in Freemerica?

Doesn't sound like arming children is a fantastic idea.

  • "You come to the conclusion this is just absolutely pure evil"

    This is the wrong conclusion.

  • Jamie Gilt.

  • More people in the USA are killed at the hands of toddlers with guns each year than at the hands of Islamic terrorists.

  • Probably because of a lack of deterrence though - if the other people were also armed to the teeth then the toddlers wouldn't shoot them.

I think the only logical outcome of this (other than thoughts and prayers, which should continue to be the primary action) is to make it illegal for white americans not to be armed at all times.

  • It's a clear choice between dead schoolchildren and government tyranny though.

If you'd ever been asked to pay a reduced tax on directly imported tea by a government you didn't directly elect, maybe you'd understand.

Don't underestimate the role a well-regulated militia plays in the protection of the United States.

  • I had to google that! I'm not sure why I was surprised.

The reality is that an American is at least twice as likely to be shot dead by a toddler than killed by a terrorist.

  • It's the teachers I feel bad for. Imagine being a teacher but going into the classroom without a lethal weapon. I don't know how you're supposed to feel safe.

  • Statistically factual but not comparable. Jihadists would happily detonate a nuclear bomb in New York City which might skew the stats somewhat. As far as I'm aware there are no organised groups of toddlers attempting to procure weapons of mass destruction. This statistic or others like it are always rolled out by those looking to play down religious fundamentalist terrorism (of the brown kind) and by inference play up American imperialism.

The American gun situation is just ludicrous though. There are so many in circulation that gun control will barely scratch the surface. The thing the gun nuts fear most ('they want to take our guns') is exactly what needs to happen surely.

  • i hope the south african government's IT dept remember to change zumas access and passwords
especially the ones for the bank accounts

  • Taking the ammunition would do it. Guns? Fine, no problem. Facilities to make ammunition? 25 years, no parole.

  • you would struggle to kill 17 school kids with an AR-15 then. Although maybe if you used it as some kind of club..

  • I’d rather not be killed by anyone, no matter the intent tbh.

  • While we've singled out the cause as pure evil, I am still a bit unclear on the next step.
Do you fight it with the Federal Agency of Pure Evil or a the Central Bureau of Wholesome Good?

  • Thoughts and prayers should sort it.

  • Sure, same, but they are very different kinds of problems. Is all I'm saying. Would it make sense to compare numbers of deaths resulting from accidents involving toddlers and firearms with those resulting from terminal diseases?

  • The miracle of prayer is universally effective, we are so lucky to have it at our disposal.

  • If you’re talking ‘things to actually worry about’, yeah sure.
