I get your point, but he hasn’t been caught with a car boot full of banned substances, nor has his blood been found in a clinic in Madrid. He’s seemingly over done his asthma medication, and, under due process, has the right to demonstrate how that happened.
He’s in a no win situation, if he races he’s condemned, if he took a voluntary suspension until he was cleared or banned, he’d be condemned.
The language he is using will potentially bite him on the backside.
Aren’t we a bit bored of the I’m different excuse from every athlete that tests positive, all vow to clear their name. Of course some do but it seems to me as a layman that more don’t.
By going this route it raise the stakes, of he is proven guilty in my opinion it further tarnishes sport.
