Better.
Do you have control of tags or are they taken from the title? Consider adding T5, T5R etc, to catch more people? -
• #40403
I think they're taken from the title
-
• #40404
have you considered adding "XXXNUDECELEBS4FREE" to your listing?
-

I could add a picture of me, naked, reflected in the chromed surface of my kettle?

Given that the other red 850R wagon is up for £13k and is a standard auto, I feel like your price is fair.
Have you considered better photos?
-
• #40408
Far fewer miles on that, but yes - it's an auto, maximum power is ~280bhp before the box melts.
Better photographs would probably help, but I'd need to find the time.

The advert has had ~180 views in the past couple of hours, I wonder how many of those are you lot?
-
• #40410
I’ve looked at it at least 3 times

You need help with the photos, it's not helping to sell the car imo.
Some really clear well lit high res pictures would lend alot to the ad.
-
• #40412
There's a limit to the file size that you can upload, but certainly the photographs I have were never intended to sell the car - they're all just snaps.
I'll get some proper ones.

Random question, but it's bugging me and I can't find the answer.
Does the Caterham 7 have a little cubby storage compartment under the tarp at the back?

Is there a way to drive a car to MAKE it burn oil?
Let me explain, my A3 1.8 tfsi is in for stage 1 of it's oil consumption test. I want to make sure I get an accurate result... As in proof that my engine is stuffed and the Pistons and rings need replacement. I currently burn an average of 1.2 litres per 1000 kilometres. This number does vary but I can't pin down if it's highway miles or thrashing the car that is burning the most oil.
Presumably blow-by is the root cause - varied and high rpm or constant rpm, what has the most impact? -
• #40416
Give it the Italian tune up. Full power, max RPM, hold it on the governor in second. Basically drive it round like a Royal Mail transit for a bit.
-
• #40417
Cool, I suspected I can hoon with a good reason now. Watch me destroy the dsg next.
The A3 is so unsatisfying to thrash though. I really want to sell the thing but don't want to until VAG pay for a new engine.

Some ECUs will record the amount of time at max rpm, so might be worth checking that first, rather than have them then use that against you.

I seem to vaguely remember a story about Audi’s consuming excess oil in the USA. It was the subject of a law suit. I had presumed that Audi had sorted the issue out. The figure was 1 litre of oil per 1000 miles. Might be worth a google. A known fault should be less hassle for them to adrrsss. .
-
• #40421
Ahh, very good point. Will check on that.
-
• #40422
Yep, thanks for that. It is a known issue (my car is MY11) and they did sue in the US and there was similar action in the UK. There's an official product bulletin but I've already had to jump many hoops to get to this stage. It's nuts, it's their manufacturing fault .

@Dammit - you mention LSD, and then further down you explain what it is: Limited Slip Differential (LSD)
i like the first photo a lot
@NurseHolliday took that picture when he borrowed the car, I also like it a lot.
One of the people who came to look at the car last year got in contact, offered me the old asking price, I've asked if we can meet in the middle (he offered 8, I want 10, asked to meet on 9) as I've spent close to 4k on it since he saw it (fuck!)

Good luck. I’ve never had a ‘win’ with warranty work - only partial success where it has cost me something.

TFSI? I have been monitoring my oil consumption and I am using 1l every 2,500kms. 1l every 1000 is a PITA. My mate has the same issue in his A6
(For ref, like. No boasting...)
How about now?
