Is there a way to drive a car to MAKE it burn oil?

Let me explain, my A3 1.8 tfsi is in for stage 1 of it's oil consumption test. I want to make sure I get an accurate result... As in proof that my engine is stuffed and the Pistons and rings need replacement. I currently burn an average of 1.2 litres per 1000 kilometres. This number does vary but I can't pin down if it's highway miles or thrashing the car that is burning the most oil.
Presumably blow-by is the root cause - varied and high rpm or constant rpm, what has the most impact?

Give it the Italian tune up. Full power, max RPM, hold it on the governor in second. Basically drive it round like a Royal Mail transit for a bit.

Cool, I suspected I can hoon with a good reason now. Watch me destroy the dsg next.

The A3 is so unsatisfying to thrash though. I really want to sell the thing but don't want to until VAG pay for a new engine.
