in this price range
Why that price range? KMC X11-93 replaced twice as often is the same price range but will pay dividends in longer cassette and chain ring life

Anyone haz a cheeky link to online/streamed Olympics coverage?
-
• #89279
Yeah I use the cheap KMC chains coz one dies every month.
On the race bike I've used their gold ones to be a tart.

What's the difference between 105 and Ultegra disc calipers?

I managed to rip out a cleat from my sidi diablos.
Does anyone know someone who can fix them?
They are sealed to be waterproof and I'd like someone competent to make the cut into the shoe to replace the cleat plate. -

Single phase rotary motor that I've got in a mill won't start when turned on, just buzzes. If it is hand cranked it gets going no problem, stays running. Any easy way to check whether it's capacitor or centrifugal switch that's to blame? There isn't a 'click' that I'd normally expect when starting, but not sure if I'm masking that or not tbh....

Click from the centrifugal switch that's normally there, not me acrually turning it on

What tools do have at hand? Do you have the circuit diagram?

My GFs just had her backpack stolen from a bar, the only thing of importance really was printouts and copies of
- payslips last 6 mos
- all current account and credit card statements from last 3mos
- work contract
- utility bill
- some other similar bits and pieces.
As we're seeing a mortgage advisor tomorrow, now im sure 90% of people stealing bags in a bar in london are looking for stuff that isnt this and it will likely get dumped, but just in case is there anything that we can do as a precaution to ID theft etc?

No to drawing as it's a stupid Italian motor with the ID plate and drawing from the 3phase variant (it isn't the 3 phase variant). Have basic electricy stuff, multimeter etc...

A Mini cab driver stopped in the CS2 down by the whitechaple building, right in the lane blocking it, there is also a double red line on the car lane next to it. And he was a right fuckin don't give a shit piece of work.
So how can I legally fuck his day up ? What is my best course of action to cause him most distress ? I've got a couple of dodgy pic of cars number plate.

Hammer frozen ferric chloride into his sausage

Pull the start capacitor and check for continuity, they often fail short circuit. It's not definitive if it looks open circuit, but a short means it's definitely fucked. Add an LCR meter to your armoury, a cheap one off of ebay for ~£30 will be sufficient for this kind of go/no go test to see whether the capacitor is behaving as a capacitor of the right value ±10%

Nitto or Dia Compe, some no name stuff as well in alu.
-
• #89293
I know they say the Dia ones are only designed for certain brakes, but they are bendable and I have always had to flex Nitto racks to fit the brake studs that they are designed for.

• #89294
Maybe forget the Dia, add VO

There's an SJS one for £15 assuming that there's a crown bolt hole thing.
Edit: I have a Cube equivalent (it looks nearly identical actually) from bike-discount as it was a few pennies cheaper

The SJS £15 rack is great

Go to your local police station and make a statement or report the taxi through road safe. Did you get the taxi number as well?

I used the cheapo ebay jobby v-brake rack on my Roadrat for a tour across Scotland. Sat much higher than I would've liked but otherwise did the job (will dig pics out if you like). I'd probably go for the SJS one if others are recommending it, mount-points look exactly the same but might sit nicer.

This is probably the best pic to show how it mounted up on the roadhog fork (prolly bait it ain't).
