  • Sliders on my Orlo. Wouldnt worry about weight if youre gonna be using a steel fork and frame, only adds 100/200g or something. Mine easily clears 650b 2.0 but wouldnt wanna go wider bc clearance. Tbf anything you do on drops probably wont need wider than that

Also nothing wrong with DT shifters. If i ever feel the need for 2x on mine i'd just get a Dt mount brazed on and run a cable under the Bb

  • Thanks, your bike is quite similar to what I'm aiming for actually. Looks ace.

Can I ask what your chainstay lngrh (centre to centre) is when you have the sliders set to accept 650b X 2.0? And how heavily shaped are your chainstays?

  • Theres not a particular length that works with 650b 2.0. In that pic theyre at their longest setting, 435 with 700x40c WTB nano. Mostly for mud clearance. When I mocked up the 650b wheel I could have moved them forward a bit but would only eat into the mud clearance.

Mines slightly different as I have a relatively slack 72.5 ST angle. Id recommend going steeper and using a layback post. Hasnt affected its use bit would be nicer having a little more mud clearance.

I'll try get a proper pic of the chainstays but heres a muddy DBAD shot
