Thanks; I think I meant 45, not 47... so many numbers!
I agree; I am unlikely to pay £140 for a pair of Edwins again. I paid full price for my first pair (Nashvilles); that was after spending about an hour in the Fat Budda store in Glasgow. The shop guy was incredibly helpful so I didn't mind paying full price. It was also my first pair of Japanese Selvage. They wore a hole in the ass within a year, though. And that was not through cycling in them.
(Edit: i.e. it was just through normal wear, before anyone weighs in with the innuendo!)
Will check out those other bands you mention as I will be in the market for next pair of jeans soon.
There’s these which might work? https://edwin-europe.com/product/ED-45-63-Rainbow-Selvage-Denim-Unwashed
I have to be honest though, I think at £140-£160 the value proposition of Edwin isn’t as strong as when you could buy a pair for £100. You’re getting close to premium Japanese denim prices and, in my opinion, you’d get something much nicer for an extra £50-60. If you’re going to cycle in them then my point is moot, but for every day casual wear, I’d go for something that little bit nicer. You’ll find a better fit and they’ll be a lot nicer to wear. The quality between something like an ED-** and a pair of Oni, Full Count, Warehouse etc is like night and day.
