  • Packaged, logged with Yodel but not actually collected yet.

  • Give Yodel a few days to find the seller...

  • We can but hope.

  • Here we, here we, here we fucking go!

If this comes tomorrow it'll be pretty snappy service.

  • Parcel is waiting in my flat and according to Mrs M_V it doesn’t look bashed or broken.

  • You live a charmed life. Not jealous, honest.

  • Pick up a lottery ticket on the way home

  • Aye but how many times you bought something that says it'll be shipped RM only to get the dreaded Hermes email about 5 days after you bought the thing, and about 3 days after you expected it to be delivered!

I had that. Seller said delivery via RM, but got the dreaded Hermes email after asking the seller why my item hadn't been sent yet.
Delivery address was my work address (a hospital), and delivery via RM here is great. Hermes however said they couldn't get access. Tried for two weeks to go via Hermes helplines to get the delivery person to ring me when attempting delivery, but that's not something Hermes say they can do. Ended up going via ebay to get a refund from the seller as they were being non-communicative.

  • and I've got another one. ebay purchase today, listed as Royal Mail First class postage. Just got an email form myHermes that starts "Great News !".
    No it forking isn't

Still, it's to an Argos collection point, I'm sure even Hermes can't fork that up :/

  • My local Hermes and Yodel delivery men are great, always reliable. Unlike the postman who rings the bell and then gives it about 2 seconds before he starts hammering on the front door.

  • My high point came with DPD. Sat at home waiting for it, saw what I assumed was the van pull up and then drive off. Got a text saying I wasn't at home, to counter any accusation that they didn't bother turning up they also sent a picture of my front door.

Unfortunately it was a different front door three doors down the street from me (to be fair to DPD the company I'd ordered from had somehow given them the wrong address, even though I was getting two deliveries that day and the other one had the correct address).

  • Oh dammit. Even late night ebay purchases are punishing. (Edited out tracking number, but it did have one)

  • Yodel left a boxed frameset in the front garden for me to find.. appaz someone called ‘Parker’ signed for it. Just a Good Samaritan passing by perhaps?

  • You don't have a butler?

  • I take it it was not on the front porch?

    Is there a front porch?

  • There is indeed a front porch, but empty. Bit of a joke, all the previous yokel deliveries have arrived to the correct address eventually. Something fishy this time.

  • It's the shoe repair thing yeah?

Tell Abubakr to check what state the driver's footwear is in!

  • Indeed. Been livid all afternoon. But having worked on the phones for Collect+ two years ago, I am well aware of how futile everything is at this moment.

  • At least its ebay and PP so you'll get your dosh back if its gone walkies.

  • The seller is happy to send me another. But they will be away through Chinese New Year, so we'll see how this plays out......

  • Call from my old man, saying the delivery driver popped round...

    "Hear you had a query?"
    "Yea, where's the parcel?"
"Oh I delivered it round the corner to a different address. Should still be there I guess."
"Then you'd better go get it."
    "Uhh..."
"How did you even get xxxx Drive and yyyy Close mixed up?"
"It was the gps. They had a porch too."

Followed by him disappearing and not returning. That was over an hour ago. Also, been raining like crazy.

Really wish my dad was tech savvy enough to have video'd that.
