Two Bromptons stolen from a locked garage of a friends house.
One is very distinctive the other less so.

How was it locked? I go to Sainsbury's there sometimes, would be handy to know.

This is hard to explain but it wasn't.
It was a friend of mine and he just had a mind blank after a long day and forgot to lock it.

We've all done it. Shit luck.

Hi all,
My bike got stripped while locked up on Waterloo Bridge yesterday (brake, gear cables & chain snapped; disc brakes, derailleur, handlebars & stem stolen). Someone sat on the bus at the Strand junction managed to take a photo of thief.
It's probably a long shot, but if you could please please keep an eye out for the guy, I'd be grateful. I have a feeling this is someone that does the rounds with a rucksack full of tools, on the lookout for bits and pieces to steal, so it's probably not a one-off thing.
Thanks!

Looks like he needs to downsize his bibs.

Seems weird to me that he has overshoes on.
In that to me that makes him a cyclist. -
• #13660
Maybe he stole those too

• #13661
Looks like either work boots or Air Jordans underneath though.

All clothes to blend in. Most people wouldn't notice the ill fitting clothes or the fact they aren't cycling shoes underneath.

• #13663
how did you get the photo? really shit though. sorry to hear it

cant even tell if its an alien ffs
-
• #13665
oh man thats a really nice bike, so sorry. ill keep an eye.

• #13666
Maybe he steals bikes too, perfect guise for "struggling with a lock"

It was someone on the bus that took the photo. Apparently other people were banging on the windows and seemed to have done enough to keep him from completely stripping the bike.
I should add that that black bike is his, not mine. That's the bike he escaped back towards Waterloo on.

While passing in front of Covent Garden station I’ve noticed a guy trying to nick the stem and handlebars from a folding bike and the same time the owner as it happened to work on the shop in front walked to her bike.
We confronted him and he tried to flee but we managed to hold him there.
Just to keep him busy I told the c*nt if he fixed the bike I wouldn’t call the police, so while he was trying to put the bike together I called 999 and after a couple of minutes the coppers arrived and arrested him.

Good work! He didn't happen to have the grey rucksack and helmet of the guy in the photo did he?
-
• #13671
Nope, different person.

Shit, well played, he looks like Davey Crocket with that had on. A far cry form old mate up the thread. Like how you're taking the picture whilst the lady is stopping him getting away ;)
Seriously, great effort, hopefully will have the book thrown at him.
Just saw via fb. Too hot to handle hopefully?
