  • What're the most gears I can fit with 126mm rear spacing? I'm building a bike for baby carrying around Bristol and need some gears. Would it be wise to have wide rims if I'm planning to have >33mm tyres?

  • 7, but the axle is weak so you might want to consider an IGH.

    Rim internal width at least 17mm for 33mm tyres, and 22-25 would be ideal.

  • Old Shimano 7 speed hubs would be doable, usually even if they are 130 you can remove some spacers.

    If seven speed cassettes are hard to get on your area then using 8-9-10 cassette while removing one cog would do. You'll have to use the corresponding shifters etc.

  • 4mm is nothing, get ya stretch on.
