Messaged Coldharbour in the ISEN thread. He explained it is that the weight of the supernova being a lot further forward, leading to more leverage) which makes them precarious for mudguard mounting. Unfortunately the carbon fork on my bike doesn't have front drilling, which would make things a lot simpler.
On that note, does anyone know anywhere behond SJS spa cycles where I can get a good deal on an Edelux II and one of the mudguard mounted rear lights.
Well in the end it is already dispatched, so will probably wait and return it.
I like the lights a lot, but given I want to mount it to the front fender on my ISEN using @coldharbour's adaptor, I think it will be too heavy. Think I'll end up getting Edelux lights instead.
