Yeah. If you're at your limit in your lowest gear and you hit a bit of a headwind you're screwed. I ride around on 50/34 and 11-32. 11-36 for touring. #weakling
Your lowest and highest gears should only be an occasional treat anyway if you ask me. If you're spending a lot of time in either then you're over-geared or under-geared.
Unless you're doing something very specific and weird like Everesting and you want to set your lowest gear precisely at the point that'll get you up the hill and no lower.
