Does anyone have any retro MTB sizing advice? There's a rockhopper that the seller claims is 46cm (I don't think he knows anything about bikes or bike measurements). Says it used to fit wife of 5'4" (I'm 5'5"). But 46cm must mean 18" no? Which is a tad large....
This is the listing.

For retro mountain bikes it's always important to use retro sizing guidance, the most important tenet is "buy the largest size you can, you will grow into it".
I will always remember my childhood friend Olly, who at about 12 was a not-inconsiderable 5' 5 inches tall being given a 23" framed Claud Butler for Christmas, I don't think he ever did grow into it.

I had this catalogue and lusted after this very model as a boy, the British Eagle I got instead was never loved as this would have been.
