  • reduce the travel to 140MM

Are they 160mmm out of the box? Mad wheelies.

  • As I found the 15mm adapters in the shed this morning I thought I'd put it all together properly, because impatient child <<

Actually feels pretty great at 160mm, considering the frame is designed around a 140mm 650b or 150mm 26". Have since been out and bought a proper big person's hacksaw and trimmed and deburred the steerer properly.

    And just for giggles:

  • Yup. I did in fact get slightly more panicked pedal strokes than usual in on the obligatory wheelie test

  • Funnily enough the pressure seems spot on right out the box. Maybe CRC have been spying on me

  • Time to test it out on the gnarliest local trails.

    Oh..

  • Done and got it dirty. Very confidence inspiring down our Gnar-Lite trails, nice and planted round corners and much easier to bunny hop and boost off little jumps. I think. Could all be in my head of course.

Shall try and get it to Chicksands or something at the end of the month.

  • You build well balanced looking bikes.

  • Looks super fun 👌👌

  • I always thought this one looked kinda ungainly but the fork seems to have solved that

  • Upgradez! NOS Hope Pro 2 and EVO hubs, bargain Pacenti TL28s. Hope they work out well because they were a pig to build.

Decided to finally attempt to make a nipple driver, and managed to repurpose an old axle to make an adapter for the truing stand. Perfect fit

  • they were a pig to build.

    Just awkward to true?

  • Silver/silver/black is my favourite wheel colour combo!

  • Very. And the extrusion doesn't seem as even as other rims I've used. The seam is especially prominent. Still, got them to < 1 mm, as best as my shitty truing stand can show

  • Ditto! All black just looks like machine built stuff

  • Perfect Sunday for pissing about in the woods with @BareNecessities

As you might gather, I'm rather enjoying this one now

  • Just minor things now. Drop the fork down to 140, pop the 27.5 dropouts on, 160mm disc at the back maybe, some new grips. Any other "upgrades" like 11/12sp, noticeable weight loss, wideboi rims etc would be stupid money, so this one is p much done!

  • Just needs some spd pedals now....

  • Brakz r deth
    Spudz r deth too

    RIP Tom. :(

  • :(

dibs on the basket, and potentially the wheelset

  • RIP. Good night sweet prince

  • A basket is for life.

Please buy all the XTR and put it on something awesome though. That would be excellent
