Oh also the paint job; so the Ron Cooper logos are in sparkly green paint, and that paint is actually under the yellow paint layer which is cool. You can feel it if you run your finger across it.

Reversed max top tube?
-
• #8
Well fuck, I didn't expect to hear anyone say that again.
In the days I was riding it, I was in my LBS and a frame tinkerer collector person said that the top tube and down tube look like reversed Columbus Max which apparently was a thing people did.

@edmundro @sacredhart cheers!

It's still a thing. Something to do with the rarity of the lugs iirc. @coldharbour should be able to tell you more.

Yeah, max makes a lot of sense back to front with big tapered head tubes. This looks cool even if it doesn't have that. Lively frame.

I have enough components to build about 4 track frames at the moment lol
I have campag pista cranks/bb - 3ttt quil stem/bars combo - campag aero seatpost - a really cool san Marco saddle and silver velocity aero rims laced to silver dia compe via sapim spokes.
All of this stuff is at my mums, I can get pics on the weekend if you want?

really, I'm lucky that you won't post. And that it's probably sold.
However, if it wasn't sold, and you could be persuaded to casually slap it in a box and drop it at a surprisingly convenient courier drop off point (with buyer going to the trouble of sorting out shipping etc), I guess I'd be in trouble.
cough
Built this up and rode it for a bit around 4 years ago, since then its been sitting around in the hallway or the living room.
When I bought it, the idea was it going to be a "beater"...
On the other hand when it actually arrived I realised it was waaaaaay too nice for that, and then I wouldn't even take it out if the roads were wet. Kinda defeated the object so I stripped it down.
Measurements: 53.5 CTT / 53.5 CTC
Columbus tubing, not sure what it is exactly but with all of the custom forming going on it looks like a mixed set. Seat tube inside diameter is 27.2
The frame is a part fillet brazed and part lugged construction and as you would expect from Ron Cooper all of the welds are impeccable.
It's a brilliant frame that handles fantastically, really tracks when cornering at speed and can make sharp turns in rush hour traffic without it kicking you off. Also no toe overlap YAY.
It's a very stiff frame which is a pleasure to ride, whoever gets this will have a lot of fun
No dings or dents, the paint work has a few scratches, the original owner touched a few spots up.
The forks are drilled so you can fit a brake if you wish.
£240 for frame forks and headset or make me an offer.
Collect only from East Dulwich/Peckham Rye.
Any questions let me know! :)
