I'm running Hunt 650b with some 1.85 (47) slightly knobbly tyres.

That looks fun - liking the other keplers in here.
Here is mine. I just changed the group set hence why it is so damn clean.

Ok nice ! How much clearance do you have ? Do you think a 2.2“ tire would fit ?
-
• #107
Yap pls post some pictures- I am really curious about the clearances. Thx

• #108
No chance.
1.85 is the biggest you'll get. 1.9 maybe.
I spoke to Brother and they said the chainstay gap is 54mm (2.1) at it's widest.
Factors including rim width and tyre manufacturers lies will swing a mm here and there. -

Thanks - ok than regular 2.2 will be too fat fore sure.
I will build those 650b wheels any way so I will start some experiments. For the start I have some Soma Randonneur in 42 they will work for sure. -

Just saw the Big Bro, would have definitely been a contender if I knew about it when I was getting my Ogre!

It looked better with compact road drops. Pista bars are a bit crap imo. Nice build otherwise though

That wasn't me. I haven't been to Kemp Town for a while.
I did see another one being ridden on the Downs a couple of months ago though. -

I bought myself an Allday complete, new from an online retailer and the bike is lovely.
There is one thing though - I cannot read the frame number on the bottom bracket, because it's well hidden under the factory paint. That's an issue for me, because to register the bike at State authorities for use on the roads and insurance the frame number should be present and readable. Can you see yours?
Any suggestions, should I sand paper it? :))Wrote to Brother Cycles - no answer since Sunday. :(
Cheers!

Have you tried using a pencil/chalk type thing to try and make it more readable? e.g. if the frame is white, a black pencil shaded over the area will make the numbers more visible.
-
• #119
Where on earth is it a requirement to register your bike to be allowed to ride it on the road?
-
• #120
Use white chalk.
-
• #121
Presumably the registration is needed for the insurance.
-
• #123
Sand the paint back and spray some clear lacquer on top.

My friend just bought a Brothers All day frame set. He needs a headset now.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a 1 1/8th sealed headset?
-
• #125
I believe the cane creek 40 is the forum approved quality headset of choice.
Probably best to ask somewhere other than the brother thread as the brand of bike is not really relevant and those with headset insider knowledge won't be looking.
I have.
