The people of ZAZZA, who also have the hip café at Schönleinstraße (where you go on sunday afternoon with your fiancée) and the smaller one at Schlesisches Tor (where you go while still under the influence sunday afternoon after clubbing) do have a new homebase where they roast their beans.
It's at Ohlauer Str. - right between the Penny and Getränke Hoffmann, under the Boulderklub -
so yea it's basically a shit location for a café, but you can get the freshest beans there and enjoy a nice cup and also talk with the owner who is happy to show you the whole joint if you like.
Very much recommended.
