I just wrote a (psychology) masters thesis using it to explore how identity work is done on mumsnet. Considered doing LFGSS for a brief period, but I had a limited word count.

"Bunnyhop the patriarchy"
Great tagline to sell upmarket cycling gear. Seems pretty glib when the majority of your customers are, well, the patriarchy too but nice token gesture of progressive attitudes guys!

It wasn't started by Rapha it was started by Ellen Noble, originally as a joke but then she realised it had a serious message.
âI started #bunnyhopthepatriarchy kind of as a joke and I never in a
million years expected it to catch on to the degree that it has. But
there is definitely some truth to it in the fact that people always
assumed that women canât bunny hop. And I wanted to show that itâs not
a gendered skill,â said Noble.âAnytime people think thereâs something women canât do in a
patriarchal society, I want to show them, âNo, weâre going to do it
and weâre going to kick ass while doing itâ.â -

Perhaps re-phrasing the tag line might have made this a bit clearer. As is it just sounds weirdly patronising, and yes-a bit of a joke...
-
• #30483
Of course! It was a very interesting project, mumsnet is a good site/site for studying power relations.
-
• #30484
Yeah I just saw the email actually (had only seen it on Instagram before) and you would think it was a Rapha thing the way it's presented. I don't really want to get into critiquing the actual hashtag though because I'm not a woman and there be dragons ;)

because I'm not a woman and there be dragons
Good job you are ensuring sensitivity around this, it would be a shame to inadvertently say something offensive. Oh.

• #30486
Ha. Obviously what I meant is that as a white CIS male who doesn't ride CX it's definitely not my place to tell women how to empower themselves in the world of cross...

So I think I'm just a moron and it was in the archive bit the whole time, and when it got removed from the basket I just went to the normal jacket section and it wasn't there, but by coincidence the new one was and I got confused.
-
• #30491
Odd thing about the Archive part of the website is you donât seem to be able to filter by men or women? The link from Men to archive sale lists both and you can only filter by size. Seems odd and a little annoying. Maybe Iâm missing something?

Has anybody tried the loop back trousers or Cotton trousers ? both look good for commuting and office casual wear , recommendations appreciated.
-
• #30493
Loop back are great.
Super comfy and they some stretch. Feel like wearing joggers. But smart too. Plus pockets got a zip so stuff doesnât fall out.
