A couple of weeks ago, while hiking on holiday, the crystal popped out of my Smiths Everest (Timefactors). The crystal wasn't knocked or anything asI had my sleeves rolled up and was walking along a fairly open path but it just popped out and landed in a pile of sludgy muddy snow. I had a full days hike ahead of me so in order to protect the face I wiped the crystal down as best as I could (not very well) and popped it back in.
This seems to be a reasonably common problem with the Everest watch which is a shame because I really enjoy wearing it.
I'm now scared to wear the watch as I don't want the crystal popping out again, and the crystal also has some dirt inside which I now can't remove having shoved the crystal back in.
What is the best way to get this fixed - try to send it back to timefactors or find someone to service the watch? Some forums seem to say I should just glue it back myself but I have no idea what I'm doing and I'd rather someone "proper" does it.
@ejay I'm reasonably local to you - do you service as well as sell? I also have an old Omega that needs looking at.
