36" exist (for unicycles... and mtb ->http://truebikes.eu/ )
They have a Beadseat diameter of 787 mm according to sheldon brown so rim is probably around 800mm

Yeah I have velocity rims on my penny, so there must be some way of getting custom sizing.

how close to that diameter does it have to be? if you're really adventurous, you could take two rims, heat up the joint, pull it apart, then reroll them to be semicircles of a much larger diameter.
Looking for some contacts or advice to get a rim built. Aluminium or steal. 865mm in outer diameter. Clincher type. Yes crazy.
