The old man left the forces while we were there (at which point the Navy sent him to the Falklands, with a couple of weeks to go before he left the Navy. Meaning he was in the Falklands for 6 months, but having left the Navy...)
We used to play in the old abandoned Ghurka barracks - Discarded condoms seemed to be the order of the day.
There would always be some kid that ended up betting sliced up on broken glass or rusty nails too.

I don't think I know where the NAAFI is / was - The old man tried to avoid the forces life where he could, and he always had a very strained relationship with the Navy.
