Unless he's being a dick with the photos, it's the cable adjuster of the RD that's on the fritz.
I couldn't say if it's Argos built, but the "renovated" 531 decal makes me think it's only resprayed by them.

That Roberts!

This is superb. Is the tubing MAX? Kinda looks like it, maybe not the chainstays (obviously not the fork). Listing just says 'Columbus multi shape tubing'.
-
• #58864
MS was a, short-lived, tubeset so perhaps that's what it is: every tube was a different shape.
That would explain why there's no "Roberts" in the BB shell, nor an "R" in the fork crown as he wouldn't have been able to use his usual shell and crown.

£700?
The design is redundant, so it's only a novelty, and apart from the cranks the build is rather modest.
-
• #58867
Makes sense, but why wouldn't he have been able to use the usual BB shell?

• #58868
True. I think they are high frame building art granted rather than functional. I think all these carbon fibre and cervelo's are a bit soulless, but in terms of pulling in a good time I understand the direction it's taken. I just bought mine for fitness and messing about on the odd dual carriageway, apart from being a beautiful thing. I tried time trialling but my sense of direction was woeful and the mate I used to go with took it all too seriously in a Jon McEnroe tantrum style, so it kind of spoiled it.

Non-round seat/down tubes.

And if you're buying a wallhanger or sunny-Sundays bike, you'll want it either period correct and/or dripping with loveliness: this is neither, although the price suggests it is.

Ah, that's the actual name of the tubing, cool. I just thought it was a descriptor of the tube shapes. Seller should've used capital letters!

Ha Fair cop! Mines got some lovely, if heavy, shamals.

Got it! It's got lugs integrated of course..
@SideshowBob that doesn't look anything like the tubing on that Roberts.

The picture is of MS tubing.
The ebay seller is saying that the frame is multi shape, whether it is MS is another question :)
Chesini with a couple of small dents to the top tube.
