  • and a video! and maybe some other rack that pizza rack like an actual rando rack decaleur set up

  • If you’ve got a decaleur you’re missing the point

Have passed on feedback re more photos and a video. Have also pointed out they need dimensions and a better description of the mounting system.

  • ok no decaleur but a demo on a rack like this pls:

  • better description of the mounting system

    This.

  • It's good. I don't use mine regularly for heavy loads but it's well capable of carrying things far larger than the platform. It's sturdy but not overly heavy. Combined with some old tubes and bungee straps it can easily replace whatever you'd carry in a large backpack.

  • I went for this one in the end. Looks pretty much identical to be honest:

I'll chuck a post in here when I get it and let you all know if it's any good.

  • Does anyone except Singular (and rodeo labs, but spendy..) make a tapered steerer disc fork that will take a front rack? I’m sure I saw a picture of someones Giant tcx with one on here recently but can’t find it anywhere.

  • Saw this in your newsletter, may I say very well done. Having dealt with awkward decaleurs this looks absolutely perfect.

  • Has anyone bought anything from Cetma before? I ordered a half rack before Xmas and heard nothing even after a few emails. I paid $10 extra to have it shipped within seven days. Still nothing.

    Rodeo Spork

    Fyxation Sparta

  • Should have said, needs to be QR!

  • You mean like MTB fat tyres or regular tyres? I asked a similar question before. There's some Surly ones I think. You can also get a reducer headset and fit a 1 1/8" straight fork although it might look a bit odd.

  • Its to go on a CX bike, so just 35-40c would be fine. I don't think surly make a tapered steerer.

  • I bought one of these cheap steel front racks from Velo vitality

Seems solid and can’t complain for £15 posted- only problem is for some reason they’ve put the light bracket right over the wheel. Is that standard practice? Means I had to bend it out the way. Might just cut it off at some point.

..My office is unbelievably grey. And just noticed the bike ties in with the colour scheme nicely!

  • Re rack, it doesn't look like it'd have issues, the issues I have with fitting the pelago rack on my mash work is the lugs on the forks preventing the mounting plates to be pointing upward. But i could be wrong. Ask the folks from pelago, send them a message or sth on FB, they are very responsive and very helpful.

  • Is there a uk seller for the Rawland racks, or an equivalent alternative (large platform, lowrider moutable light mount etc)?

  • I like the look of this. Do you have it yet? How is it?

  • It's okay. Says it has a 9kg weight limit. I'm away at the moment but if you have a look on my profile I posted a (very bad) picture of it on the bike.

It didn't line up totally straight but that is probably more likely to be due to a bent old fork than the rack being manufactured badly.

I'll get in a few proper rides with a bag or box or basket on there this week

  • I'm quite tempted at the price, but I'll wait to hear your report.

    Happy riding.

  • I would like to hear about Nitto F15. Has anybody got any experiences?

  • Low riders: I know the general consensus is that it’s best to get racks with a hoop that goes up and over the wheel, joining to the two sides. What about this style of low rider? Where they attach either side of the mid point mount of the fork? Does that make it any better, or is it still prone to bending in to the spokes?

  • I have a Tubus rack with the same mounting system and it's been super solid, only thing is the bottom of the rack touches the side of my BB7 so I had to put a spacer to even it out

  • I want to put a front rack on DBAD for a #rando set up, Paul says don't put these on racers/racer mediums. I have no idea why.

Can I use something like M12? Where can I get measurements for the distance between the mounts? The brake mounts are 63mm apart from each other.

  • fuck! amazing, thanks! Will get M12 ordered and those rack mounts and hopefully won't die. With this bag.
