Hello English speaking people.
So the frame arrived almost 3 weeks ago from Lima, Peru, and so far Marino has done a perfect job.
As I'm leaving for another big cycling week this Monday, I needed to build it so it can be ridden.
It's not the proper wheelset, as I've just ordered the spokes for my carbon / dynamo set up that I'll be using.Because I decided to make all electric wires internally hidden, I spent the whole afternoon dealing with cable routing.
But, hey, that's a job done and I can ride tomorrow !

I have a disproportionate amount of love for the supernova light braze on and I'm now obsessed with hidden cable routing.

Wiring looks a pig to get that nice but so worth it!

• #137
Can't wait to see this in its full glory, internally routed and all

I was on a ferry boat very early this morning approaching the French coast for a short weekend at my parents. I was bored so when data came back on my phone I started reading the forum and found this thread. Then I saw the link to your book and read a bit about it on the publisher's website.
Later today I was in "town" and I thought, let's get a book for my return journey on the ferry. And boom! It was on the new releases table!
Will report, although I'm a mega slow reader so maybe the English version could happen first... -

Coooooool!
Jean-Acier? John-Steel? Is that a common name in France?
-
• #143
Not at all ! It's my parents "idea"from french famous name Jean-something. I love it, because as we all knows steel is real and badass.
According to the French embassy I might be the only one worldwide ahaha.During a press interview, a journalist came and told me "It's so unfortunate that they didnt called you "John-Carbon", you would have been faster..."
I tried to explain him how better steel was, but, hey, he was hermetic. To go further on joking, I decided to put "Jean-Inoxydable" on my top tube, which means John-Stainless Steel.

That's so cool! I used to live in French steel country (near the border with Luxembourg).

I took the channel ferry
Just boarded!
And just sat in restaurant with your book. Paul Valery and Sete, as a big Brassens lover, that's a nice start!
I have to confess I'm not traveling by bike... -
• #146
You'll have hard times crossing the channel by bike though !

They will be the next book I read.
-
• #148
Yes :-) I've finished it recently and thoroughly enjoyed it.
@Lanterne_Rouge you're welcome to borrow it if you want?
Anyway, nice bike! The rear light cabling exit point has me wondering how the routing is done? I see the wire goes in on the top tube, but then I would have imagine the seat tube/stays junction was "solid" (and there's the matter of the seatpost being in the way).

That's very kind and I'll take you up on that offer. I'll give you a shout next time I'm in town.
