A chap on another forum I post on just purchased this

'It was brought back to Britain by an English soldier at the end of the war, after the watch came into his care following the Battle of Nijmegen in 1944.'

Took it from a body or a POW?

I think they were POWs. But he also took a sample of his frogman suit, which I thought was a bit odd. Also strange (well, awfully convenient) to engrave the case back with the date of capture in my opinion.
