  • last nights marathon pace run (4:15 per km) was a funny one, I'd done a bike vo2 max session in the morning and walked the dog at lunch time, but the only thing I can equate the feelin to was turning too big a gear on the bike, the power was there but it just felt as though I was muscling my way around rather than running smoothly. I figure its a good thing as its training to keep going at race pace even when the body is saying no.

    got three new pairs of trainers arriving today, so pretty excited, Hoka One One Clifton in wide as all the others I've tried were too narrow for me, some inov8 road talons and some Asics racing flats for speed work/half marathons. cant work out which shoes they are replacing yet as while all their direct replacements are nearing the end of their lives they aren't quite dead yet.. so just going to hide some at work for now to avoid the 1 in 1 out policy I have at home.
