All these Rolexes are desperately horrible. There is no elegance about them whatsoever.
I'm sure most people only buy them because other people will then know they have one.Why did they stop making watches like these?
-
• #25703
One or two of the watches you just posted are worth 7 figures (or close to it) I think.
-
• #25704
Because they realised that most that can afford their watches have no taste and they can make loadsa monies from targeting them. As you said most of their buyers only buy them because they know it can be recognised from 100 yards.
…..quickly runs away to hide…..to play with my Seikos….

that's why i like the Pepsi/Coke/Batman Dials

and i was worried we were resorting to stereotyping people.
-
• #25707
To be fair, it is exactly stereotyping. There are stereotypes because they're real.
-
• #25708
Yes, I didn't say it was wrong.

I bought my two tone sub because it's vulgar and makes me laugh.

Today’s wristwear. The more time I’ve spent with this, the more I love it as an everyday wearer, especially at weekends. The only bugbear is the power reserve is laughable. It won’t tick for more than a few hours off the wrist. Keeps good time otherwise.

Wrong

Have to say I did quite like their new 38mm offerings, particularly the cream and blue one. If I had a spare 5k (any they were more than 30 metre WR!!!!) I would be very tempted
-
• #25717
They’re just a bit recruitment consultant.

• #25718
Is that a Fisher Price my first Panerai on the left?
Who chose the number font? The local beautician's receptionist?
-
• #25719
I don't like it
-
• #25720
Problem is I don't think it looks as good as the OG and then I don't have 5 figures for a 60s Speedmaster.
-
• #25721
38mm?!?!?! What is WRONG with you!?!
-
• #25722
Regional sales exec
-
• #25723
Ha. Yes a little recruitment consultant.
Make it properly WR and I would seriously rock that beautician sales executive Fischer Price.
(While doggy paddling at the local lido).38mm... it's the perfect size for a wristwatch. Unless you are build like Arnold/Dywane/etc
(I have tiny wrists!)
-
• #25724
38mm is 6mm to small...

If I were ever to get a Panerai it would have to be one of the classic chunky ones.
£25k well spent :P
