  • Rolex make 2000 watches a day.

    /csb

  • Buddy has that Daytona with a white face.

Nuting on the OG Panda of course.

  • Quite like the Railroad too:

  • steel Professional pieces

What does this mean? A Datejust? Or all Oyster cases?

IME the sub is the one you seem to remember on peoples wrist because they're all the same* whereas there are so many variations of the oyster range that make them different - dial colour, bezels, numerals etc.

For me pics of the Daytona leaves me cold whereas in the flesh it looks decent. That said it maybe my subconscious being impressed. I remember meeting an ex-pat from Dubai who looked like he'd been rolled through GQ's insta feed and it he pulled it off nicely with a grey suit.

But then I quite like my chronos either descrete of sporty:

    *yeah I guess there's date/no-date.

  • That is rather lovely.

  • ^that Zenith is some sort of Hodinkee mashup innit?

  • Lovely. What’s the movement in that Breitling?

  • And dial colours and material variations

  • Can’t stop coming back to this little beauty

  • Ah, have no idea what the RRP is. Well, if you can find one that’s not over RRP (sounds unlikely) I’ll gladly bring it back.

  • Thanks! I'll take a look.

  • I'm visiting Miami, New York and Dubai over the next few weeks....happy to fix you up if I can. I'm sure to be doing a bit of watch browsing so I'll keep my eyes open.

  • Never seen a sub on a wrist irl that wasn't black dial and stainless.

  • No idea. Pure aesthetics.

I just googled for older Breitlings. Tag chronos from that era have that same sporty vibe.

  • I see a fair few Rolesor and hulks. And the occasional white gold although obviously pretty unusual.

  • Sadly when I was working most people I came into contact had old two-tone Rolexi and Breitlings. That said I knew someone with a massive gold yacht master ii... that was a strong look!

EDIT: although now I've googled rolesor I'm pretty sure it was a gold/gold Skydweller

Either way and insane amount of money to spend on wearing a watch ironically (although I do like how the Skydweller works)

  • I love the idea of owning a gold/gold sub ironically.

  • With or without diamonds?

I guess it would have have to be on a nato strap

  • Vomits-in-mouth

  • Because they have the same Calibre 11 movement (i just discovered). That's an awesome watch you have there.

  • God no. That's just tacky.

Whereas this is the height of good taste...

  • The green one has always been strangely appealing... Although it has the air of being payed for in 50s.

  • I actually really like the white gold and blue ones. If I had the $$, I'd have one.
