  • Hi all,

I recently shut down No Quarter Detailing and No Quarter Sport.

I started the business straight out of college, knowing absolutely nothing about business in general. I made quite a few mistakes with this business, but I've learned a huge amount.

I'd like to thank those of you who have supported me and my venture. I'm currently pursuing another venture (out of the cycling industry) so I'd like to clear some of the leftover stock I have. Some of it will be lower than cost price, as I have plans for the current space it's in.

Postage is a fixed £3, whether you order 1 item or 20.

Please PM me if you'd like to purchase.

Specialized purist bottles - cheapest I've found them for is £10, I'd like £3.50 per bottle

500ml of Speed Detailer for matte and gloss bikes - RRP £10. Selling for £3 per bottle, no cloth.

80g of carnauba wax with applicator pad and cloth. RRP £17.99. Selling for £6

Fine pore cleaning sponge. These things are amazing, bullet proof and really light on your bike. I worked directly with a manufacturer on these. RRP is £4.99, but I'm selling for £1.50

  • Good stuff mate, take a break and apply the learning to the next venture.

    PM incoming.

  • Do the prices include paypal fees?

  • No, please add fees or you're more than welcome to pay gift (if that's allowed?)

  • I wouldn’t pay using pp gift.. Fool me once etc.

  • What are the fees these days? They were around 3% if IIRC?

  • Right, having a major clear out now...

Black iPhone 5 16gb, unlocked to 3/EE. A few chips and scratches, plus the screen has some leakage (think that's the right word?) on the left hand side. Functions perfectly, if a little slow.
Comes with numbers matching box, but no accesories. Original instructions. £45 + £3 postage

  • So your phones are locked, not unlocked, right?

  • Ermmmm, the black iPhone was on 3 originally, but I tried it with my EE sim the other week and it works, so not sure whether it's unlocked to any network, or just those two.

White phone did not work with my sim (again EE) and I don't know which network I originally had it on, as it's been a good 4 years.

  • So what's the speed detailer liquid? What does it do exactly?

  • Speedily details, obvs

  • Any iPhone previously on 3 is unlocked to all networks, afaik......

  • Does anyone know if my chainring will fit a Strada crank?

  • The strada cranks are 144 bcd.

  • What are you moving onto james? Is it just the paint stuff you've folded, or clothing as well?

  • Paypal fees are 3.4% + 20p.

    7. PayPal transactions must include buyer protection (sellers are not allowed to demand that money be sent as a "Gift" as this deprives the buyer of any form of protection on their payment).

  • @Poetic thanks

@farewell thanks for the info :)

@stedlocks really? I read somewhere that it was after the 6?

@fizzy.bleach you give a couple of squirts of the detailer onto the microfibre, then wipe over any dirt. It's perfect for quickly going over a bike when it's a little dusty or dirty, but doesn't quite need a wet wash. It also adds a layer of protection similar to a wax, but it only lasts 2 wet washes or 2 weeks. Water beads amazing well after use, and it also smells fantastic.

@coldharbour at the moment just doing a little freelance photography and simple WordPress web design at the moment, really not sure which direction to go quite yet. I used to be amazing at going from one project to the next, but I think I've got writers block at the moment! Thinking of taking a year out (travel, do freelance work etc) then throw myself into another business when I've got something I'd like to pursue. I shut down everything (paint, cleaning products and jerseys) as I flew a little too close to the sun.

I have quite a strange set of skills as I have no education past GCSE (which I barely turned up for as I was running a business), but I've taught myself everything from licensing for intellectual property to the whole manufacturing process, R&D etc. I also did a lot of work for quite a few of the larger manufacturers, originally starting out doing their R&D paintwork for new models, but then after a while general rebranding of the companies themselves, which I really enjoyed.

  • @Poetic As this is a pista will it be 135 BCD?? Cheers!

  • nope.. this one is 144. if it had the bolt holes further from the edge, it'd be 151. 135 rings came much later

  • I'll take some stuff, PM inbound.

    Nice one.

  • iPhones £43

  • James, I sent you a DM regarding posting some bottles.
Have you been able to look into that?
    Cheers

  • Having a busy couple of days all, will respond to PMs tonight or tomorrow.

    James
