It all depends on budget doesn't it really?
The knackered run down 2 bed cottage on well field road I rented was pricy.
Its valued at 500k apparently. That put me off streatham
There was a 2bed ex LA (Lambeth) we liked- that was £250k and had an unknown major works fee attached. That put me off further.
There's two estates, that one and one further down central hill that look ok as they're Lambeth they might be up for demolition any time. -

You seriously misalign the doors and they won't lock at all.
Then the Jabberwocky breaks in while you sleep...
Seriously, if you are worried then just write down what adjustment you made so you can undo them and get back to the starting point.

Congrats! Brilliant news. That much closer to getting out into the sweet sweet Kentish lanes.

What is forum approved South East location atm?
I'm in Greenwich but too close to Blackwall Tunnel approach so want somewhere less busy.
Could move my house a few roads over but that'd make it cost 1m instead of 500k. -

Come to Catford. I picked up a mid terraced 4 bed house with generous garden early last year for just under £500k. Lovely area with salt of the earth people.

the bloke buying our place popped round to take some measurements for furniture etc. nice enough chap but fuck me could he waffle on. two hours he was there!
is this a thing? going round to houses you're moving in to and sizing it up like an undertaker in a shit western? might do the same in that case.

missus told me that some woman on train chatted with her this morning .. what disease is this? is it viral? I didn't come to the UK to talk to strangers, I could've gone to America.
I haven't had a haircut in 6 months because the barber close to my place chats while doing it .. is there no god?!
This is one my genuine fears when I get builders to come around for a quote.

Nah mate. Life assurance + faking my death = mortgage free and living the dream up Beddlestead lane every morning.
Why a 1 bed?
Why streatham?
I lived there for 3 years until 2013. I saw it change a lot.
I think its overpriced, for flats, I think its super busy and the road traffic is terrible. Especially since the big tesco went in.
On the plus side it has two Commons, three stations, decent schools, an ice rink, bravvi ragazi pizza (or did), a swimming pool, a bangingnturkish bakers.
And de ver cycles.
Have you thought of norbury?
