  • 6'1" here. 59cm fine for me.

  • I’m 5’11 and ride a 56 roller, with a 110 steam. I would think you would need fair amount of seat post to make a 56 work for you and a long stem.

  • 59cm should fit you fine (I fit a 59cm at 6”)

  • Is that with drops @HatBeard? I ride a 53 with flat bars and a 90mm stem very comfortably at just over 5’6”.

  • @HousecatHST got about 130mm of seatpost from seat clamp to saddle rail, no idea if this is lots or not.
Used to more post on mtb's.
It's comfy. I think i would be border line either way, i sorta fit a 56 but should just fit a 59 but the 59 might have been wrong for me, not being able able to sit on, or test ride either makes it hard.

  • Risers. maybe on a 110mm stem.

  • yeah you might be right, if I had my time again I think I would have sized down, I stupidly just bought the same size as my crosscheck, without really looking too closely at sizing anomaly you get with Surly's.

  • Same here. 5'7", ride a 53 with a 100 on (with low rise risers) and I'm grand.

  • 5'10" and ride a 53 with 110 stem and setback..

Did some updates on mine, new pinky King, zipp post, chainring and kcnc bars!

  • that doesn't count, it was modded.

you ratted that up pretty quick!

  • hehe, same toptube lenght, stem at the same place but without spacers.

yeah it goes fast, have ride it everyday since it was painted.. nordic winter is rough.

  • Rolling on 35's and doing some light wading, mud plugging.

  • MTB crud catchers. Had to reverse the front one as the wheel caught it when turning as it's a slight wrap-a-round design for wide open mountain bike frames. Did the job.

  • Proper roller this one.

  • :)
It has it's own dark corner of the forum, most of the updates happen late at night, it's nice to cross over into the normal Steamroller thread now and again.

  • What's the largest tyre anyones got on with a front mudguard ?

Trying to fit 35's and it's a right ballache.
Surly reckon you can run 38's no guard and drop to 32's with a guard............ 3 effing MM's over, now dremelling the guard where the tyre rubs, trimmed off all the molding sprue (rubber hairs on tred) tempted to shave down the low profile side/edge knobs.
Show me some fat tyred Rollers with a guard please :)

  • anyone tried 26" on theirs? curious about rear clearance

  • What bars are they please?

  • Tempted to put gravel kings and risers and a smaller chainring on my roller having re read this thread...

  • Never tried but that looks so rad I might have to try it!

  • Not sure if this is a repost - but phwoar!

  • report back with findings please!!

  • Just built up my 'roller, running a Brother Cycles carbon disc fork out front in order to pull sick endos. Absolutely loving this bike! (I have since put a smaller cog on to fix the clearance issues)
