A few of you may recognise this bike...
I got sold a cracked frame by someone who is now banned from the forum. Long story short: I paid £200 for this bike as a complete. Originally I knew it needed some work but saw the value in the parts so was happy to buy it as a roadie project. I was told there wasn't a crack in the frame but alas there was.
I have been told this is repairable. Either a TIG welding or paying for a whole new DO on the rear. All for under £100 or who knows, you might have a mate that does it for a case of beer. EITHER WAY there are options.
I aint looking to get back what I paid for it. I am pricing this due to the main parts on the bike as well as the value in the forks and wheels. The frame is hardly taken into my calculations. I could sell these parts off individually and benefit more financially but I don't have the time.
In my opinion...This bike needs a new chain, brake cabling for the front, ditch the Shimano gear shifters, rear wheel axle needs looking at and obviously the crack in the rear DO needs repairing. But hey! I was told "The bike works fine, needs some adjustment". Lol.
Specs are as follows:
-Early 80's frame with chips and decal peels
-Campagnolo 27.2mm aero seatpost
-Campagnolo cranks amd rear derailleur (7 speed)
-Mavic Open 4CD wheelset laced to Campagnolo chorus hubs (rear axle needs some
attention)
-Campagnolo front and rear brakeset
-Campagnolo chorus aero road pedals
-1" columbus steel blue forks
-Campagnolo headset
-130mm Cinelli quill stem with Giro D'Italia drop bars
