Probably :)
I absolutely love my caad12 though. Handsdown the best bike I've ever owned and that includes steel and full carbon frames

Aluminium forks with rack mounts? Sounds sketchy... I'd be worried about fatigue.
On your 1 week of touring per year?
I'm sure you'll be fine. -

Please, dont bring Sora into this, you'll upset the cult leader.

I was obviously (so I thought) joking. Any frame material can have any properties you want as long as you put enough engineers on it, apart from looks.. Which obviously is the current discussion about frames, right?
Not everybody is down with the fat aluminium hydroformed tubing and welds.

How many engineers do you need to design me a frame made out of frozen sausages? I'm not concerned about looks. Although it's definitely going to look great.

Not sure there are many structural engineers specializing in the mechanical properties of frozen meat products..
But if you come across the yield strength and young's modulus of a frozen sausage it'd be quite easy to do the calculations.

No, Young's do frozen seafood.
You're likely to find a Walls modulus for frozen sausages. -
• #2238
Why suspicious?price and quality wise should be on par with Planet x
-
• #2239
Young's modulus: call it 11 GPa
Yield strength: 25 MPa
Assume a density about the same as water. -

Just that there's no reviews, so I don't know whether the BB shell/headset might need doing in a shop, the derailleur hanger might not be included, it might be really flexy, paint might be really poor quality, drilled/tapped parts might not be straight, etc.

how about a soma fogcutter? look great to me!

Was told yesterday by my LBS (while checking out an Evasion) that QBP/All-City is working on a bike they call the "Crust Killer," presumably something like the Space Horse with 650b and 650 bosses/mounts/firing ports

Despite the many convincing arguments from everyone else I am resolute in my desire to take stuff on front racks/anything cages! So it's ruled out sadly. Also I'd prefer 700x40 or 42. I'll put it on the spreadsheet though.

Is this a trick question?

you could always put a steel fork on it. it doesnt have to come with the carbon one. ive been planning to fit a thorn touring fork to my cotic escapade for front racks too. website says the fogcutter can squeeze 38c with fenders so i should think 40 or 42 without would be fine. but go 650b if youre going that fat anyways!

Yeah well,i'm quite intrested in it but I share your thought,no reviews is quite worring
-
• #2247
Nope, but if quality at this pricepoint is so terrible there would be no pompino frames around.point is that Octane is kind of a Pompetamine copy

apparently to be known as the “Gorilla Monsoon”...release date is Feb 16

solid title change

A quick google tells me they're probably going to want to change the name...
Sonder Camino is £50 cheaper and funky pink. That suspicious CRC steel frame is £50 cheaper again. If I do get something I think it'll be the Camino, reviews are pretty glowing
