there are some young 'uns in the squad currently, Diaz, Foden (injured) and Zinchenko, but probably a sign of the pressure to win NOW! that Guardiola doesn't want to throw them into the fire, and would rather spend cash on proven quantity as cover.
It I was Mahrez I'd hold fast because what happens when Sane comes back from injury, where does he fit? Who makes way for him to get his games? Does he just ride the bench until a run out in the Carabao cup?
