I know I should UTFS, but is there a post somewhere in this thread on bike-friendly pubs?
-

Maybe wrong place to post , but Mary's in Dublin is highly recommended by me. We had a few pints there surrounded by a friendly crowd, great and gregarious musicians and a fine staff.
I may have been completely duped into thinking this was the real thing, but happily so. -

I think that would deserve its own thread.

Any pubs worth visiting in Battersea?

Battersea Draft House?

Prince Albert and duke of Cambridge are nice civilised establishments.

I can only recommend ones to avoid, namely the masons and the draft house. They've personally pissed me off in the past. The Latchmere is ok. DoC and Albert are also good. If you're feeling brave, try the Chelsea Reach, aka Paja's.

I used to drink in the Mucky Pup in Islington - which has since become a comedy club. A large part of the attraction was the prog-rock filled jukebox.
Is there anywhere else like it?

That's disappointing, spent many happy hours playing pool in the backroom there.

Yep, and darts. It’s a huge loss, but I can’t see them ever having made much money in there

Where can I go in Covent Garden (or within a 10min walk) on Friday night that isn't too loud so I can have a decent conversation, and be able to find a table for about 6 people? Preferably with food.

Any recommendations between Pimlico and westminster?

The Cardinal, tucked round the back of Westminster Cathedral.

Just moved offices to Lisson Grove/Marylebone area. Where's good for an after work pint of a Friday? Not the Globe, gets so rammed with BNP Paribas.

Volunteer? It's been 10 years since I worked around there but it was our local.
-
• #543
Ha!
I should know this. Old sam Smiths pub right? I used to drink there underage when I was at school in the area.
-
• #545
It’s been renamed recently for some obscure reason and is now The Windsor Castle, ffs.
But yes, old Sam Smiths pub.
-
• #546
Thanks both!
-
• #547
Seconded.
Also, The Grosvenor. Cheap food and there's still a pool table.
-
• #548
Looks pretty good. On the way home too! Ta.

Thornbury Castle used to be amazing with fabulous burgers.
Now I see they do Thai food which might be an indication that it's gone to shit. However it's still run by Gary and Maggie who are excellent landlords. The Sir John Balcombe might be OK too. It was shit when it was the Hobgoblin.
The Windsor Castle is crap and full of LBS students.

Where is good in Hammersmith? Within five minutes or so of the tube would be great, but further afield is ok if there is somewhere worthwhile.
Zeitgeist for a bit of German beer.
