  • New to this thread, but it looks like it could motivate me.

I'm 6'2" and have always been "skinny". I've never thought about my weight. I eat what I want, when I want, including any and every snack, sweets, cheese etc.

But, it's been creeping up to over 80kgs and won't stop going up if I don't do something.

This year I turn 40 and also celebrate a year off alcohol. It occurs to me that it is a good opportunity to sort out my weight, get fitter and maybe even get a bit ripped.

Getting fitter is covered by riding more, the rest of the forum is good for that.

    Getting ripped ... Ummmm.

But weight loss is for right here. Goal is 75kg.

So, I've started weighing myself morning and evening, recording it in Google Fit app. I've also made the decision to try and eat responsibly. Let's see how far that takes me.

    31/1/18 80.4kg

  • So your TDEE is about 2,100 cal per day based on age, weight & height.

First thing to do is lower your food intake so you're running at a calorie deficit. Not too drastically but the more you cut, the faster the weight comes off, to a point.
No need to stop eating the things you like – just keep an eye on it.

Don't worry too much about fluctuations as your body's glycogen stores will vary, causing you to go up and down in weight due to water retention.

In terms of getting ripped... Start lifting and doing HIIT.

    75kg should be super easy.

  • What are you using to calculate TDEE? MFP uses BMR doesn't it? If you're going the calorie counting route.
