  • I wouldn't know if it's a period colour, but I like it. Plain white decals were a good call. The world champ bands on the seat tube are a bit busy though.

The window in the fork lug is lovely.

And I wouldn't know if it's worth the asking price, but for the money I'd expect the BB shell to be faced and the seatpost clamp opened up. I'd also want to see Masi's confirmation and ask about the dent in the NDS chain stay.

Given they claim "There was no damage to it . All threads checked", I'm not filled with confidence that it really is "Fully restored.".

  • I messaged the seller. They bought it with a strange paint work which I can only describe as "incredible hulk green" and decided on the blue which to my eyes is wrong. Looking online Masi frames from that period have a far more subdued colour.
For me if you had the frame and it needed to be painted, surely you would ask Masi themselves for guidance.

They also said "There was no damage to the frame but the workshop did build up a bit the headset race on the fork as it was a bit worn and we needed to avoid any play on the headset"
I think the price is at least a £1,000 too high given the new paint. And yes you would want to see the provenance that they refer to.
And yes the NDS chainstay dent
